OK whenever the car is not running ANY thing I do electrically will cause my speakers to "pop" and my stereo turns off, After about 2 or 3 seconds it comes back on. To include the dome light coming on the blinker coming on the headlights I mean anything that draws the slightest bit of power. If the car is running I can hear the pop in the speakers but it doesnt kill my radio. Any thoughts? Also my blinkers flash somewhat sporatically maybe relates to this problem.

if anyone cares to know I figured this out, it was a short in the wire that runs from the alternator, to the fire wall, to the alternator gauge.

Well I found a burnt/melted portion of the wiring harness behind the dash so I started to investigate further and soon realized that I was lucky the whole damn thing didnt light on fire lol. That wire had burned through several other wires it was next to. So I spent pretty much the whole day repairing wires and re wraping them all.

These kinds of problems can be a mess. Frankly this sounds like one more episode in the saga of "Ma, how not to design a bulkhead feedthrough."

Have you read up on the MAD electrical stuff on bypassing the ammeter, etc?
