Emily's '72 Scamp

Do you have the part number for the rear section of the exhaust pipe you got for it? I tried to get one for my Dart but the guys at the parts store by my place couldn't get one and they ran the numbers up to 1983. I need a new muffler and all the pipe from the muffler, over the rear, back. Ross said you got it from Napa?

yep napa for a 76-80 aspen or volare I believe

Yep, got it at NAPA for a Volare/Aspen slant 6. However, I had to do a bit of modification as it was designed for the other side. I cut the pipe in half at the top of the bend over the diff and rotated it 30 degrees or so and welded it back together. I also had to relocate the hanger. Looks like NAPA part number 45614 from the pictures I have.

Emily drove her Scamp to senior prom. The visiting British boys (friends of one of her girlfriends) who were roped into being escorts to the dance really took to the car and wanted their pictures with it. The boys were the hit of the party as they speak with a brit accent and they are 6' 3" and 6' 6".

Very cool build. Nice first paint job. Your car will look even better when you finish it.

New headliner install. What a pain getting it over the little tabs to stretch it out! Good thing Emily has small fingers.

Got the headliner in, the gas gauge working again, and the anti sway bar installed. Just in time as Emily comes back from college tomorrow and is anxious to drive her Scamp.

The geometry on the anti sway is not perfect, but it sure helps in the corners.

I had to run a jumper wire from the fuel sending unit post to the fuel gauge as the circuit board was giving way too much resistance. I also had to replace the sending unit as the old one was intermittent at best.

I got tired of the unreliable gas gauge, the jumpy speedo and the super dim instrument lighting. I bought a blank instrument face from Redline Gauge Works http://www.redlinegaugeworks.com/products.asp and put in some VDO Vison gauges. Hopefully this will cure all ills.

I think they look pretty good. The two red lights are for the brake and low oil pressure (I like the idea of both a gauge and a light, as this is my daughter's car), and no, the oil pressure is not spiked, I just don't have the variable sender wired in yet, so it is not seeing a ground signal. Only one turn signal is on because I didn't think to turn on the four way flashers till I got home from the shop. Oh well.

Here's some with the Tach hooked up and the oil pressure through a resistor so it at least shows a non pegged reading. I also need to get the proper temp sender as I am still using the original mopar unit and it is not calibrated to these gauges.
