Engine number decode

I took some photos of my stampings on my block just so I have them and can reference the photos for my build but I can’t quite figure out all the numbers.

Can any resident code breakers help me out?

On the front below the DS head:
HM318R 39760 _ 31

H - 1972
M - Mound Road Plant
318 - displacement
R - regular fuel

3976 - 6/16/72?
0_31 ?

Passenger side above oil pan rail. Pretty light stamping but in the right lighting, I see: 364234
This matches my VIN tag

Not yet. That’s a good idea though. I’ll take a look

I skimmed through the engine chapter in the manual but didnt see anything about decoding those numbers. Admittedly, I was a quick scan of the chapter.

Found the engine code section. Its located in the 72 parts manual
