So I have 2 Chrysler reds here and they are worlds apart. One is very red and the other is burnt orange/red orange. The 90* is the only thing I have that's original Chrysler red, I think.

Which is more correct?

Thanks,
Keith

What brand of paint? Chrysler Industrial Red is correct.

Red vs. orange depends on the model year.

Engine paint typically darkens with age as well.

Chrysler Industrial Red is what I settled on. It was the correct shade compared to a few different brands and suggestions. One was to orange, one was plain red, one was scarlet and the one I used was red/orange. It had just a touch of orange which matched the distributor housing as seen in the photos.

IH red works good too. My pan is a shade off of my block but I'm satisfied no one will see the difference.

My dipstick and my throttle bracket are survivor paint from the same engine. Dipstick looks orange, bracket looks red
Go figure
