Awhile back, a member was kind enough to send me some images showing correct placement of a big block in an early A. I'm ashamed that I cannot remember who it was. I had a hard drive failure on that laptop and lost everything. I am hoping maybe they see this and will be kind enough to send those images again? Thank you drive through.

What K member are you using cuz if it's a small block a member you need to cut the front half of the driver side tower off and box it in so that the oil pump will clear. I would just get the motor and Trans in there once you get that part done and see what the angle is in regards to the angle of the tail and rear end. Find the motor height once the tail shaft is on the trans cross member.
The cherry picker will hold the front with resting on the mount...then get cardboard to mock up mount if gt pu dont have any.
It's really easy with 2 people

I posted some info here a while back of how I located the BB in my 66 Dart. Not sure if this is what you're referring to. Either way, good luck.

Of course!
I would Put it in the car and set it so that the tail shaft and pinion fall within the margin of factory-spec... and then cut and roll the rear end for racing if that's what I'm doing with it putting it in nose down more. But if you got instructions I guess you could start there what the heck

I have a Ford 9" already cut to length. I was just lookin for general guidelines for placement. Plan on bolting the transmission to the cross member and going from there. It should pretty much fall into place.

So you decided to drop that 400 in the Valiant, huh? I knew you'd come around.

I've always said I was gonna do it. Yall just ain't paid attention. lol

I figured you would. A couple of your recent posts gave me doubts though. What kind of timeline are you thinking? Are you in need of any parts?

The 400 under my bench is a Ford. The Chrysler 400 is on the engine stand. No. It's for Vixen, which will remain a slant six.

That's how I turned out with Vixen. I had no idea I'd become addicted to the slant 6. My plans were to drive it like it was with the 170, and stick this 400 in in. It's stayin a slant 6. lol

I'm not close enough yet. As easy as it is to get the engine and transmission in and out......it's gonna be like I said right from the rip. I'll swap engine configurations like socks. Freddie is working on my mounts. I do need a 4 speed hump. My plan was to simply get the fiberglass reproduction from Brewers. I've seen a few members bash the fiberglass, but it doesn't bother me in the least.

....I'll eventually be looking for a four speed OD, but that's a good ways off yet. My plan is, to get the slant 6 and 903 back out not too far off, get the 400 and A230 just mocked together. Bolt the transmission to the cross member and locate the engine. Drill my holes through the mount brackets and then it'll be located. See which exhaust manifolds will come closest to fitting. Pull it back out and put the slant 6 back in. The whole point of this project is my build thread name. "runnin and drivin". Anything that takes it off the road for a prolonged period ain't in the plan. lol

A spare K-member would come in handy. Then you could keep all the works together.
