Trying to find the measurements from point to point where the engine goes or how to center the engine in the mounts... its a 67 coronet with the original 318 la. Im putting on competition hookers and need the engine to drop down about an inch... could I have the rubber mounts in the brackets wrong... if I move the mounts around and make the engine lower in the car ... how do I find the centerline for the rear and pinion to trans location.... ive been fighting this for a few months now and the only info on the web is about Suzuki samurai guys clocking the dodge mounts to move the engine around...

If you are looking for angles why ? you really don't want any angle in the performance world.

The right way is to set the motor at 0.0 angle, you don't want driveline angles in the performance world.

All mopars have the motor offset, which for out of the box headers is a issue if you center the motor where it belongs, not a issue if you have custom headers made.

.

Ok this is what's troublesome.... where do I measure from.... I understand 0° just don't have a reference to go by or even the right tools for it... maybe the car was hit also and has a slight diamond.... can someone please explain.

Im going to go from the casting seam in the trans and mark center on the crank pulley... then measure with a tape from the framerails... then get the tti installation papers... the upmand down angle of the tail shaft to pinion will be 0° once the car is set up on 4 wheel alignment wrack. The engine sits high at the motor mounts... about an inch. I will level the intake manifold at the carb and hope this is right track.... with all thats going on I wouldn't think im the first to cross this road... and no im not wanting to add Angles just correct the angles I have.. I worked in a shop years ago and had a frame strecher.. I have done it with a porta power setups and once I know where its ideal locations are... but you rob peter to pay Paul sometimes and get it all shims close enough..... hunter had the specifications and this is the information I seek..... engine centerline and thrust angle for factory set up...

Why... because its off set how much I dont know but the rear will tell me

You mention "offset". If you are referring to the engine not being centered in the engine compartment, it should not be.
