OK...so here is my issue...see the pics. The end of one of the lines from the Evap is broke...and we are trying to re-install the system. Is there a common way to fix this other than buying a new evap? If I were to find a bad evap, and stole the section of pipe I need, would a compression type connector work to splice the two together?
thanks
Matt

a question for any skilled welders out there.... Could this be tig welded?

I could be wrong, but probably not. The aluminum seems to soak up oil from the refrigerant.

There are epoxy products used in home refrigerator evap repairs, and some commercial coils are actually factory epoxied to the tube ends You might investigate that.

Use a compression fitting that is rated for use on aluminum tube.

Cut the tube back on the evaporator. Locate a stub end from a junk hose or evaporator the same diameter & type. Put the two together with a compression fitting.

Would be good if you could put the joint behind the support clamp.

Aluminum rated compression fittings
Scroll down the menu on the left & select "aluminum" from the "Tube Material" list.

We have been fixing those aluminum tube failures like this for decades without a comeback. Many times after the owner has tried epoxy, solder, etc. to fix them.
