Factory '71 318. XE268 pushrod length?

Hi, Has anyone installed an XE268 cam in a stock '71 318 and had to use any other length pushrod than the stock 7.500". (non adjustable).

I have a 71 318 and I've installed the same cam with stock length push rods.

You should always set the preload on any motor. using adjustable rockers. Base circle on cam, block deck height and cylinder heads cut all make for different length between the rocker and the lifter. Some guys bolt every thing together. They may get close and the motor runs. But are they right? Or just lucky?
