I know, spiro locks are better, but what if I want to use the plain old-fashioned, regular snap rings in my circa 1970 full-floating wrist pinned 340? My on-line searches are getting no where. Thank you for a brand/part number/whatever helps find these things (.984" pins).

Can't think of the part number, but Sealed Power still has them. IIRC, they are the same as the BBC snap rings.

I've never had one fail.

I might just re-use the old ones if it seems so difficult to find, the motor has not been touched in years, so chances are the existing snap rings were USA made, at least.

Try Sealed Power LR-194. I bought some a couple years ago, I think from Rock Auto.

Any shop that deals with UEM (United Engine and Machine Co.) could help you get this.
