I swept the deck of for company and this is what it looks like know.
And there is more in the trees to fall.:angry7:

Looks like a day with the blower and a good day to open up that
bottle of Captain Morgen and burn some leaves.

I will have the water hose out and clean area's around my fires
so don't worry
I will wait for a calm day.:-D

Mike, the best part about this time of year is all the beautiful colors even though all those leaves make a mess and it's a lot of work to get rid of them. I'd post some pics of the woods behind my house and next to the shop but it's been cloudy and rainy the last few days so it wouldn't do the colors any justice. We're supposed to have lows in the high 20s tonight and over the next few days so I wouldn't be surprised to see some snow here soon.

I'm not ready for winter yet. I want to enjoy the fall awhile.

Good luck with your leaves and bonfire! Be careful.

I don't mind doing the leaves and burning them off.
It is a good time out of the house for some fresh air that is very important to
me, When the wife is at work I just wear worm clothing and open window to get the humidity up in the house, As we heat the house it depletes the humidity and we need at lest 60 percent just to keep our health up.
I learned this the hard way with my first son that was born in November 28 years old now
years ago. He had seines and ear problems and I was told that we need to keep an eye on the humidity levels in our homes in the winter time because
the heating systems we use take the humidity levels way to low.
I am an old fart and I can not remember having a cold or fever in the last ten years, I think we forget just how bad the air can get in our homes when winter sets in.

Back when we were raising children we used a little kerosun heater subliment.
An open pot of water on the top was a scalding hazard so I bought a tea kettle and took the spring out from under its button. Thus it wouldn't whistle and would only dribble when knocked over. Ukaliptus (spelt?) leaves in it kept our sinuses clear too.
Really miss what I consider the good ol' days.

Mike that that is my only complaint living here in the natural state especially here in river valley too hot and to many bugs during summer to open windows to cold during winter thank god my wife and agree we set heater for 55 with windows cracked during winter. Love fresh cool air. Kevin.

I grew up in Southern Missouri MeMike with nothing but wood heat and remember Mom always keep a pan of water on top of the woodstove to keep the humidity up in the house.
Actually my Grandpa only lives, literally, a mile two from smallblock.

It don't take much to heat my little cottage on the hill.
I and my son and friends built it and I did not spare the money on the siding and insolation and windows 24x30 home for me and my wife.
I did the foam panels myself one week end and when the crew came up to continue working they said I need to do all there house.
They could not believe how neat and tight the blue foam rap was installed.
Yep moisture is a must folks. The air in your house can keep you down in the winter time .

It took a few days a little at a time to drive the grounding rods in the mountain 8' long and I had to put two in at 8' away from each other.
New codes that came in the same year I had my house build.
You can see the pole driver and I kept the young guns on it.
