I have two cooling fans sitting in my garage that I'm considering to use on the 360 that's going in soon. Both are clutch fans with serviceable clutches but one is a 19" diameter 7 blade unit, the other is an 18" diameter 5 blade unit. I don't have a shroud to the diameter difference won't be an issue (until I get a shroud!) so which one so I go with?

Will they both clear hoses etc? I would go with the 18" safer on the arms, not much diff in air flow.
 
IIRC, Mopar says that dyno testing showed that fan clutch along with the "funny looking" fan with the 5 unevenly spaced blades produced the most horsepower & best cooling.
 
I say go with the 19" and let your buddy Neil have the 18" one for his Barracuda. :)
 
I heard the same about 4 and 5 blade fans moving more air than 7 or 8 blade.
I've heard 7 and 8 blade fans make less noise though. Dunno how true any of this is.
