Fat Blue Fish Build

Thank you all.

Like I said....its more than me...its about getting the recognition that these beautiful cars should have gotten all along.

Mustangs and camaro's are great and all but there are so many of them.....these old barracudas are lost art treasures that so many people have never seen....you would not believe how many guys under the age of 30 had NO CLUE what kind of car it was since most of the badges are gone.....they all were in disbelief when I told them it was a cuda....so young....so nieve.

I set them straight and tried to sell every one of them on the fact that these cars are within their reach and still available. The more we sell the more ours increase in value right?

By the way....did you guys see Chip Fooses car...20 feet from mine?

Here is another shot.

No he did not stop by and say anything nice.....he is Chip Foose after all.

You can cast your vote for who's car you like better.....mine (ours) or Chippy's half finished, done a million times 32 ford.

i personally think foose is a half beat pompus *** so i vote for a 81 buick regal rusting and striped out in a junk yard over his.... he makes a living on some drawings that ANYONE can draw dont believe me go to ANY art school for a month and you could to..... he has no vision of his own he just goes with what everyone has already done... the last famous real hot rodders were boyd coddington and his OLD crew some really talented guys and he had vision if you look at the cars he built they werent the same bs over and over.... just my .02

Whoa WHOA....damn that Foose guy musta made over your dart to look like a nova or something.......The competition is about fooses car vs any 67-69 barracuda.

No buick regals allowed...no matter how rusty and decrepid.

We have to stay within the confines of the competition or it wont be fair.

:)

sorry just dislike foose...... alot......

how did you do at the show?

See bottom of page 4 and I was kidding about hacking on you.

You can hate away although I know for fact he is a genuinely nice person....His design timing is definitely questionable.......but late sometimes works in your favor.

P.S. did you see the 150K west cost custom cuda on ebay.....I hope they get it.

Today was working on the transmission. got the speedo cable installed after some body persuasion. Got the brakes plumbed to the T. There is alot more to do....I still can't believe the show results.

ya saw the cuda and well damn=P~

but i met foose once and he either was having a bad day or something but he was an a** to me and my buddy

and before someone says we started it i liked foose then and my buddy definatly likes foose (spent like 1600 on 20" foose rims) oh well back to the cuda at hand

pics??

I concur

No pics.....sorry I will get some under carrage Sunday when I get back on it.

I managed to get the brake lines ran from left front and right to a T before I ran out of time and tubing. 2 more lines to get to the Master and I am complete....I love the brake flare tool I am using. Real handy little tool.
Oh yea...mental note, it's a real pain running lines after the engine and trans are installed next time do this first.

I started making up the hoses for the power steering but found I need one more hose and a reserve tank so back to computer skate.

Goals for Sun are to finish brakes and get fuel lines up to engine bay.

Finished brakes and will get to bleed the today.

Got header back out and starter and removed the oil pickup line that was to long and getting pinched by the header at the oil pan.

Waiting on parts so I will bleed the brakes and get on with the fuel.

I bought myself some more time in the shop by having him redo the windshield gasket......its bulging.

Gotto go work.

Wednesday.....wed nes day... that doesn't even sound right.

Today skdd. Work that is.....no one is paying for work I did 4 months ago.

Ahhhhh the good old days.... A bat a late night visit....a check in the morning.

I digress.

Here is what I am doing now plumber from the tank to the 10m filter (Aeromotive....good stuff and local mfg to us in KC.) Support the Midwest.

Cut outs by Kirk Racing Products.....very nice stuff about 225 per side.
Someone clever could incorporate this into an H pipe system and only use one. More....continuing tomorrow.

I should have the ex and the fuel ran by Sun for sure.

We are so close to firing this baby up.

Kirk racing products.

They are very nice and although they only have one butterfly vs. 2 for the Noweeds system they still work and sound great.

http://www.kirkracing.com/

They don;t have a very good web site but they have a very good product at a reasonable price.

Mop.

Today I f'd with the steering some more and got a sleeve installed over the steering column shaft....it was ugly and crusty looking so I used a piece of 1" stainless steel conduit to cover it up. I stalled again. Man its hard to work like this. I need my own lift and a garage to work out of.

The shop was grumbling again today about room. I told them they could kick me out whenever or I would pay for storage of one car in order to keep my spot on the lift....I hope that works as I think I could get it close enough of I have about 3-4 weeks.

I hope that works or its back to the concrete to finish this girl.....I wish I had more time.

Sweet.
Is that electric exhaust cutouts, what make is it?

That is what I want to know.

Hey Mop more info on the cut outs please!:-D

Also I was wondering if the rubber piece that is in between the fuel pump and the car come with that pump? I ran a Holley pump once and it was loud. That looks like a good insulator to keep down the noise. Friend and I was talking about it the other day... he said his pump was loud and was thinking of switching to Aeromotive pump.

If my boss (construction) had all the money that people owed him .... he wouldn't have to worry about much. People want the service but they don't want to pay. My boss just won in court $51,000 that a lady still owed him for building a house. She tried to make it look like we did a shoddy job but she lost in court! Ha! Ha! She had to also pay my boss's attorney fees and interest on the money! How stupid can you get!

To FUNNY

Yea they really try to cut me down with the BS......AMERICA'S PROBLEM....spend what you don't have then F it someone else will pay for it or I'll just move or file an 11 or 13.

Baaaaahhh.

The pad is a vibration isolation pad I got a Hannah Rubber here in KC. It is used in industrial applications and commonly placed under vibrating equipment. Comes in 4' X 4' sheets but he sold me a small piece that I colored with a sharpie on the edges to match the pump....cheeze please.
Its cork sandwiched between rubber.

Hope you got the Kirk Racing info.

When I saw that pad I thought that was a special piece. I bet that pump is pretty quite.

Yeah I saw the Kirk info... they need to pick up on their website don't they?

I bought a QuickTime electric exhaust cutout for my Dodge Ram and to make a long story short ... IT SUCKS!

If you could take some pictures of the cutout when you get time I would really appreciate it. I didn't see any good pics of it on the Kirk site. I'm curious as to how it works.

Ask and you shall receive including narrative from my hillbilly sounding ***......funny I used to live in OMAHA....how did I pick that accent up living in MO?

Outstanding!

I didn't know you had the motor running! Sounds awesome with the cut out open or closed.

That cut out is built and acts totally different form QuickTime. QT does not open or close that quickly and you have to hold the switch until it closes and hold it until it opens all of the way. The instructions say "Not to hold the switch to long or damage to the motor will occur." Needless to say I was very careful and the motor still went south.

Glad to see that there are better cut out being made.

Don't worry about the way you talk... cause I sound just like that! LOL!

It's not my car its my buddy Ron's 69 Super Bee.

Very sweet car with a Hensley motor as well.....he led me to Hensley just to set it straight.

He is going in for a Stint or Open Heart Surgery tomorrow so Ron.....good luck I know you'll be fine....your only 44 so you got a lot of time to smoke tires and drink beers and be with your family and friends. Medicine is good these days and doctors are slightly less retarded......Like I said, good luck.

Here's to you.
