Father-Son 1974 Duster Project

Nice! You're the only one who knows those booboos are there. Well, and your son. And us... lol. Either way - it looks great!

Here is a glamour shot of the car snapped earlier this summer on a beautiful day. I have dropped the idle RPM to about 750 in neutral. Car still performs great but it sounds nicer with a bit of a lope at idle when in drive now rather than the Chrysler specification of 900 rpm.
I also re built a fishing boat this spring and summer. I love boating, but I discovered I need more of a deck boat.
Let me know if anyone on the east coast may be interested a nice '92 Grady-White Sailfish 254 Sport Bridge.
She sports a Mercuiser 7.4 Bravo....

I had some time to mock up a new bracket for my flamethrower HEI module. It was on a simple bracket that was held down by the back coil bracket bolt. The new version will be on the front coil bracket bolt and will have a nice heat sink. This version will place the module completely under the air cleaner and out of sight. Of course the Chrysler ignition box and ballast resistor are still under the hood for stock-ish appearance purposes only...

I'd think it would be better mounted on the firewall. Electronics don't like heat and constant vibration. Nice ride your kid has there.

Joe Mc i know what your saying however HEI modules have been inside distributors since 1974. Pretty proven design. It's a hot environment with constant vibration.

The Big guy brought me
A new Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk and a new boat. A Nice black Robalo R247

Awsome D/D how is the Duster running now?

Misty is just awesome! I have been running HEI since we rebuilt her. The module was on a small bracket held down by one of the coil bracket bolts. It bothered me how it was just sort of hanging there.
I decided to move it over to the inner fender where the Chrysler orange box and ballast resistor are. Used a small terminal block so I didn’t need to hack up the original wiring harness. If I ever need to swap out a module. It’s easy to get at now, yet still tucked behind the washer bottle...

D/D, I was building my Duster the whole time you were doing yours. Check out how similar mine is to yours. Search You tube-1980's Tribute Plymouth Duster- It's red like yours. I'm not to tech savvy, so I never posted pic's. Tell me what you think

Two very nice red Dusters!

TF You need one of those cling stick PLYMOUTH windshield shades. Here's mine in about 1989, oh it looks like you need a playboy air freshener too :D

Yea, I thought about doing the Limo tint thing too. The strip across the windshield would be perfect

Here is a photo of a reflection of my Duster in the shining new Hell Raisin paint of my sons brand new 2021 Challenger ScatPack.

I just had to buy this 96 Ferd F150
I had very similar yet more plain model back in the day. My son traded his Silverado in on the Challenger and I can’t be without a pickup to go fetch stuff on the weekend now can I?
I dig the two tone and I was able to get all the stainless trim and graphics to make the thing look new so off to Maaco she went. The guy who owns our local Maaco is a good egg and he cares about doing good work. And his crew likes working on old stuff too. Plus, parts are very reasonable and very available.
It has the typical rust around the wheel openings so she’s getting new fenders up front and wheel arch repair panels and inner wheel house panels on the bed.
mechanically I had to do new rear spring hangers, axle seals, belt tensioner, trans lines, radiator, water pump and spark plugs. It’s a 302 with 200,000+ miles and the damn thing had the original plugs in it. lol
We found a mint seat out of a same year F350 and bought nice door panels, new carpet and headliner. A nice little freshen up!
Did I say I Love that two tone? YeH I did.
Oh and did I mention I’m looking to swap a roller cam 360 into the Duster next winter?

For the Duster this winter it was a new steering column from www.normsspeedshop.com
What a beautiful thing this column is. The one I was running was half assed.

Also going to a stock 5 blade metal radiator fan with the factory clutch in a few weeks.

I love the 92-96 F150. One of the best body styles in my opinion. My 94 Lightning I bought new for my bday in 94.
