I have a fel pro gasket kit part number ks2114 it is listed for 318 and 340. The 360 has a different part number ks2109. I know 360s have a different oil pan gasket and rear main seal. but is there any other differences between the two kits? Can I use the 318/340 kit on everything other than the oil pan?

That’s the way it should be. However the 318 vs 340 intake to head gasket is supposed to be different.

If you go Felpro 1008 on the hg, contact local dodge dealer as the MP set is the felpro 1008's and as far as I know the only way that they come as a pair.
MP# P4349557.

Front crank seal may be different. Rear main too. and pan gasket. If it fits 340 it should have big port intake and exhaust gaskets.

Just be sure on nominal head gaskets thickness as it effects CR:
  • Mr Gasket 1121G .028"
  • Felpro 1008 .039"
  • Standard Felpro kit 8553PT at around .050"
Yep, The PermaTorque gaskets are good ones but unless you over milled and need to bump compression. The other 2 are a good replacement for the original steel shim gaskets.

I'm pretty sure the 1008 are the ones in the kit I bought. That is the ones that I have used during all my calculations.

Any bore specs? We have had discussions about that before and I don't know if anyone came up with a original steel shim to measure the bore size. Too bad someone doesn't make a smaller bore version for the 273. Maybe the larger bore keeps the fire ring cooler and helps the longevity of the gasket.

Measure and check PN.. the standard kits have the thicker 8553PT. The gasket box typically has a listing of the parts inside.

FWIW, Felpro also sells 'conversion sets' that have the lower end gaskets and seals. You can maybe buy that for the 360, get the 1008's or 1121G's separately, use the stem seals and valve cover gaskets out the the present set and figure out the intake gaskets and exhaust if different. Save the rest for the 318.

Yea I think I'm wrong on this one the 8553pt is the one in the kit. The one in the kit is the blue ones.

Yea I think your right! I have looked for a list of part numbers between the kits cant fond them. There may be a list in the box I will have to look. I will probably go with the 1121g!

If you need the increased compression of the .028, get a Cometic, the mr gasket might work, but some have had trouble with them on higher compression motors.

If you dig around on the fme-cat site, you can get down to their detailed kits, and that will list the PN's the kits. It is hard to find. The 360 conversion set is CS-8359 for the 1978-ish year range.

Thanks bud I appreciate that!

I'd just use all the gaskets from the set you have which work and any others specific to the 360 just get separately from an auto parts store, that's usually what I do. Or I buy one of the "small" gasket sets and buy the rest "a la carte".

The Mr. Gasket head gaskets work fine with higher compression I used them on my iron Magnum-headed 10.5:1 360, it actually broke a ring land from detonation before it blew a head gasket. I'm using Cometics on my next build because I have aluminum heads and head studs and my machinist who did my heads recommended them for any forced induction stuff. It'll be N/A for a while but I may put a centrifugal blower on it at some point.
