What do you use as a seal between the outer fender and the inner fender? I believe ours used a caulking material but its been a long time since we took it apart and I cant remember. Thanks for the help.

stuff called rope caulking would do the trick. available a builder supply/hardware stores

along the bolt flange they factory used a adhesive foam strip. Places that sell and install covers on truck beds call it cap tape. I imagine hardware stores have similar. 1/8 X 1" i think

According to what I've read, and evidenced by looking at my own original car upon disassembly, the factory used seam sealer in that interface. The seam sealer they had back then isn't the same as what we have available today; it was more of a foam looking semi-soft paste. I will use the modern day seam sealer on my own car when I reassemble it. It is available in tubes, or in caulking gun style tubes from any automotive paint supply store.
