What’s the code on a fender tag for a 318 and code for a slant six ?
Woah big fella! What year, make, model etc? My crystal ball is broken. Fender tag decoding is quite complicated throughout the years.What’s the code on a fender tag for a 318 and code for a slant six ?
I know bud. But, the engine code should be quite common, yes ? I would think a 318 code should be same for all makes and models ? I decoded my car a few weeks ago. I’m not trying to decode it now. I just want to know what the code is for either or both enginesWoah big fella! What year, make, model etc? My crystal ball is broken. Fender tag decoding is quite complicated throughout the years.
For example the fender tag code for a 340 is E55 on the lower left of the fender tag at least 69 forward, if you're not referring to the vin designation.No. They are not. Take, for example, 69 model year. H was a 383. Then in 1970, H was a 340. Years make a "little" difference.
Ah, yes. I got a little ahead of my self! FENDER TAG codes from 69 up, I think, were same.the fender tag code for a 340 is E55
Ok, what is the code for a 318 Dart - 73 ?Yup, different over the years. A 318 is F on a 1969 and older and G in 1970 and up
I took your text above and put it into google and the 1st result was:Ok, what is the code for a 318 Dart - 73 ?
I have the G in my vin. And E44 in lower left corner of fender tag. So, the answer to my question is E44 ? Thank youE44 and G in the vin
I have a 73 dart with exactly that.

I take it you are one of us few 73 to 76 a body fans.I have the G in my vin. And E44 in lower left corner of fender tag. So, the answer to my question is E44 ? Thank you
I wouldn’t compare it to an original 340 Dart car. But, I think an original 318 car in 73 is pretty special in the fact that most Darts by 73-75 we’re probably slant six cars.
I like them all. I like everything Chrysler.I take it you are one of us few 73 to 76 a body fans.
I have a 75 dart and I love "late" a bodies.
The 73 I have is a parts car but I still might save it.
And yes, my 75 was a C code slant six car
But, I think an original 318 car in 73 is pretty special in the fact that most Darts by 73-75 we’re probably slant six cars.
E55 was used till 73 the last of 340and these;
E44: 69-71: 318 cid 2 barrel V8 230hp: E55: 69-71: 340 cid 4 barrel V8 275hp: E55: 70-71: 340 cid 3x2 barrel V8 290hp: E57: 71: 360 cid 2 barrel V8 255hp: E61: 69-70: 383 cid 2 barrel V8 290hp: E61: 71 only: 383 cid 2 barrel V8 275hp: E63: 69-70: 383 cid 4 barrel V8 H.P. 335hp: E63: 71 only
Yes, this is older, but was an example of what the poster was asking for as far as fender tag codes and not vin.E55 was used till 73 the last of 340
