I tow a lot different crap. But in all honesty our incredibly ridiculous state laws required me to get rid of all of our diesels older than 2014 at work and I decided to buy one from the company. The price was right and I’ve always wanted to build a kodiak as a tow rig. This one was mint with 74k miles so I kept it.
Well well well. Look who is showing off his junk cant wait to see your face the first time this thing does a bumper dragging wheelie.
Not a whole ton of progress with it lately. Seats redone, need to cut the factory console brackets out and get the carpet in, holley dash is in and 95% wired. Cutting it short on time but im going to attempt to take it to the Fling next month.
Never done carpet in my life. Called up my mom, she swung by and knocked it out. Even had the "better half" in the car helping. Pretty decent day. Making the car somewhat more comfortable for the lady to ride shotgun. Still need to trim the shifter cover and finish up some small stuff interior wise to make it "good-ish enough".
Nothing fancy. Had a buddy come weld up the quick release hub, and bang out a quick charge pipe for me. Progress is progress though.
Thanks, I got a ways to go but im trying. Hope to see the barracuda there again, always been on my list of favorites.
Gotta go backwards to go forwards sometimes right? Changing up the cross over pipe a bit, was too close to the lower radiator hose for my liking. Figured its now or never since I'm changing the radiator and had to put the coolant sensor in for the holley dash. 2 stones, 1 bird.
Cross over pipe all tacked, will get final welded tomorrow. Gonna weld in the leaf spring sliders, got the switch panel mounted up and wired. Gotta weld brackets on the new radiator and we'll be right back to where it was.
Excuse the messy wiring. Brother came over, we each picked a side and started knocking out wiring. Had some issues with the kill switch for the battery so im rolling without it currently just to get things hooked up and tested. Even bumped the motor over off the key, haven't done that in about 2 years so it was nice hearing the big ass stock starter. The list for the fling is pretty small now. Might take next weekend off of working on the car to prep/prime/paint the engine bay on my brother's car. Or at least help him with it. Long winded post but im excited seeing the dash light up.
I appreciate it. I always say it but the compliments kinda keep me going sometimes. Its a big combination of "this probably won't work but let's try it" to be honest, I expect this motor to be a complete flop with boost. Buts its been quite a fun learning curve.
Was a good weekend of wrenching on the car. Sunday about 11pm went south. I learned a new level of pain and ended up in the ER until about 7am. 30 years old an a kidney stone kicked my ass. Been at home recovering. Should hopefully be back on schedule this weekend. Lots of sleeping and skin boiling showers.
