And………………

Massive vacuum leak on a throttle shaft. First pass it fell flat on its face. 8.4 at 110.

Second pass I babied it out of the hole, slowly rolled into it and short shifted it. 7.1 at 112.

Didn’t break it so I can’t complain too much.

The difference between your car making a clean pass (my brother) and your car falling on its face and going a 3.2 60’

I’ll just say I’m happy I wasn’t recording in the car

After some much needed sleep and some time for reflection. I had a killer time with my friends and family. Crazy to run 131 to the 1000’ on the street and not be bothered only to be a nervous wreck in the lanes. Cant wait for the next track day, next time I’m going with zero expectations. Check the A/F on the return road photo. Big yikes.

Just know that combustion makes the most heat at stoic (14.7:1 for regular gasoline). Ask any small aircraft pilot, combustion temps get cooler the further you get from stoic -- in either direction. The reason for going rich under heavy load is to both cool combustion, and to better facilitate spark ignition under extreme pressure. You can cool combustion just fine at 16.82:1 AFR so long is it doesn't induce ignition misfires. Be scared at 14.5:1, be very scared!
