I was curious if the firewalls were different in a factory AC car to a NON AC car? 1972 Duster, or any A-body for that matter.

Yes, they're different.
AC has a bigger fan motor hole, extra holes for the refrigerant lines, control lines, and condensate drain; different mounting points for the heater/condenser box, etc.

Back in about 1995, I stripped an A/C system out of a 73 Dart, including cutting the firewall out.
I might be able to find all the pieces if yur interested.
Let me know. I’ve also got a 73 Dart Sport that I need all of the AC components for.

If you want AC in your car Classic air is the way to go. Everything goes through your existing fan motor hole , No drilling or cutting needs to be done.

The fire walls are the same just the holes for the fan motor and the AC needs to be changed. First picture is non AC second is AC.

look how young I was in that picture. That is was in the late 70's. been doing these cars a long time. That is Todd in the red shirt he was 14 years old. He is now 62. He lives next door now and I just woke him up to come to work. Boy life goes by fast.

@Oldmanmopar
Ima thinking you mean that the firewall stampings are the same;
cuz clearly most of the holes to the passenger-side of center are different.
The section that I cut out, would make a great pattern
Plus, I think in 73 they changed the size of the bulkhead connector and added a wire-port on the Drivers side.

Why I mentioned except for the holes

same;
1) identical; not different.
2) of an identical type; exactly similar.
When you said "same",
I went to the definition.
Pardon me for knowing the difference.

Tomato ,Tamada Potato, Patada Who Cares . They used the "same" firewall stamping from 67-76 and punch or drill different holes. When does it end with you . And you had to go to the Dictionary to prove your point. LMFAO.

I worked with a person like you. He wanted to climb the ladder and move up in the bosses eyes.

To make himself look good he made everyone around him look bad.
We took the ladder down and left him on the roof at the end of the day.
