First time out in the 71 dart

Ran the dart at 1/4 mile Friday and Saturday , 340 904 35 spline spool with 488 gears 30 10.5 tire ladder bar car. Foot brake and ran it easy first couple runs to feel it out. MSD box set with 6000-6600 chips. Car was on the rev limiter for couple hundred feet at the traps, set up for 1/8 mile. 1.60 60 foot. 7.30 1/8. 11.50 quarter at 111.60 due to gears and rev limiter. 340 is a fresh 60 over motor. My question to you guys is go 456 gear or rev it more. Motor is 460 hp at the crank and ran strong. Still grinning from ear to ear! Smart guy here forgot my iPad so no pics from the track but was a dozen mopars and met a couple cool guys. Was a 69 dart with a 5 speed that was shifting into second with the front wheels a foot off the ground running 9.35. Great time.

tire is 30 inches tall? I would stay with the 4.88 gears...
 
Doing the math, 111.6 with 30 inch tires and 4.88s should be 6124rpm plus TC slip.If the tires grow the Rs will be less. If you are on the 6600 limiter then its 6600/6124=7.8% slip, or more.If the tires grow just 1%, the Rs should be 6063pus TC slip. Again if you are on the 6600 limiter, that would be 6600/6063=8.86%slip, or more
I would wonder about the chip. Or about the TC. What does your tack say?
What does the Dyno graph look like?

-Where tc is tire circumference, R1 is the diff ratio, and R2 is the trans gear,going over the line.
-tc is; 30 x 3.1416(pi) = 94.24inches
 
Hi Stan we raced at Bremerton this weekend,camped out Friday night at the track. Like the smaller venue than PIR. Just figuring out the little bugs at this point. I will not be able to go again til after July 4th. I had the 6400 chip in the overall limiter not the 6600 that I thought. Motor was still pulling at 7200 when dynoed so after some break in will run it at 7000.
