fixing the inner fender behind the rusted out quarter

They are just behind the rear wheel, patch panel for quarter is OK, but would one just cut up some tin for that area behind that is AWOL?

Had to do mine today..gonna weld in same gauge patches

I would. Just get some 18 guage metal. Do a little to give a little roundness to the pieces matching the rest of the quarter panel. Pretty easy and straight forward welding repair.
