no, not that kind

Didn't US automobile flashers become standard/required about 1967?

How are people retrofitting flasher units to ones before this time? I guess there's add on kits, etc.

Just ask the real question please

First what are we working on?

1937 Airflow?

So reading a HUGE amount between the lines, I'm assuming you are talking about HAZARD flashers and not TURN SIGNAL flashers

Turn signals were standard about 55 or so

Hazards were later, 66? I don't know, and it might have varied.

You can or could buy kits for adding

The simple way is this:

The 67/ earlier hazard flasher was a 4 prong switch, but it was SPECIAL. When off, no terminal was continuous to any other terminal. When on, they were all 4 hooked together

WHAT THEY are hooked to:

Output of hazard flasher. This is different from the turn. You need one independently fused, powered on all the time

Brake light wire going to TS switch. This feeds hazard flasher to both brake lights with turn signal centered

Left front turn lamp. This will be coming out of the TS switch

Right front turn lamp. This also will be at the TS switch

Trying to find a "generic" switch to do this might be tough. I guess it would have to be "4 pole." "Four pole" does not mean "4 terminals" A typical generic 4 pole single throw would have EIGHT.
