Flexplate is not fits the torque converter

Yep, the TCI 145700 is for an internal balance 360 engine. Didn't we determine a while back that your 360 is external balance? I'm having a difficult time understanding why you'd install this one.

Because this is the only one I had, my car was disassembled and needed to have mobility. Local “pro’s” adviced to try, I’ve tried. Shipping any other plate takes month and the half...

What? The answer is the ATP Z-332!
So I've bought it! :) and this is the 4th flexplate and it's not fit :) it's 10` and I need 11`. Ordered the B&M 10236, I know it's wrong weight, I know it's for 360 and not for magnum but this is the best choice I have. Need your advice here - what if!!! I'll cut a small piece on the opposite side of the "cut" the 10360 have? it should balance 500+ grams, I need 314 grams, so if I'll cut a small piece - will it help to be closer from 500 to 300 grams I need for my magnum?

Can u post pics of plate and converter? What about drilling the right plate if u have it? Kim
Will try it later. Drilling is not an option as I have all plates smaller than needed. Only one that is for internal balance is ok in terms of diametr. I’ll use this one but it’s for 360, too much “balanced”.

How much weight difference is there. I think an LA. 360 is 19+ oz. What about a 400/440 cast crank plate. I believe it’s 12+ oz, but not positive. What is the magnums weight? Kim

For example, the required amount of off-set on the balancer end is 534.3 grams for the 360 and 314.4 grams for the 5.9 Magnum. The rear end of the engine has the same thing going on, on average there's only about 60% of the weight off-set that the 360 has compared to the Magnum.

Alrighty, I measured the same as ur pic. The outside holes are approx 11 1/8 inch ctc. The inside holes are 9 7/8 Inch ctc. The cutout may not be in the same place. I also measured from the outside bolt hole to the tip of the cutout. Left side 2 in. Right side 1 1/2 in. Kim

Thanks a lot!

So, let me get this straight; you want to start cutting on a new flexplate, but refuse to cut on the weight that's on the torque converter?

Hi, today is the day! :) I've received the plates, 10236 and 10237, B&M.

Looks like it's what I need - 10237. It's having less balance offset than 10236, its identical to 10236 (which is for 360 and not for Magnum) but have less "balance offset". All the holes identical, 10237 it's the one that "bigger" Two hours later I'll try to fit it.

As the result - TCI-145700, ATP-Z332
- will not fit.

Finally, if you have Magnum and 727 transmission - 10237 is your choice :)

hope my experience will help someone

Hi, the story is not ended... after installation of 10237 flexplate vibration increased! I'm devastated... dead end. Any ideas why it can happen? Just a reminder - I have Magnum, from Jeep Cherokee, 5.9l plus 727 transmission

On this photo you can see two plates - black and old one - original flex plate from Magnum, we've compared and find our that the balance on 10236 and 10237 is in the right place. So now the vibration is not caused by wrong flex plate. trying to understand the source...

Is there a weight on the black plate. If so, where. Is there a weigHt on the converter?
Kim
Thanks for asking. Converter is balanced by itself. On the black plate weight is marked with white.
My action plan - to check the ignition (distributor) and to finetune the carb, looks like the fuel is way too reach. The vibration changed it’s nature, right now it’s only on the rpm slightly above the normal (not sure if it’s called stahl)
