Years ago, when I was making conversion wiring harnesses for guys to run the OBD1 magnum engines in older cars, it was always a sticking point when someone wanted to run the EFI magnum, but wanted to go with a manual transmission and use the car bellhousing. Seemed no one made a 130tooth flywheel with the crank sensor notches on it that the magnum engines need. Now I am wanting to do a manual swap on a 1995 5.9 swapped setup that's been in my car since 2011. However, I'd like to go with a 6 speed transmission, or possibly a 5 speed.

There are a few companies that make the bellhousing that will mate a t-56 or even a TKO to a small block, but they all seem to require a 130tooth flywheel, and dont have the notch for the crank sensor. I can easily cut the notch for the sensor into the bellhousing, but what are guys doing these days for a 130tooth, 10.5" clutch, magnum-indexed/notched flywheel? I've been out of the aftermarket scene for 10+ years, hopefully this part has been developed by someone since then.

Thanks!

American Powertrain makes 'em, but they're not listed on their website- so you have to CALL them and order it.

P# FWCH-10004CS. 130t., 5.9 balance with the sensor notches. But you have to CALL them to order it.
A little over $400 last time I heard.
Did I mention you have to CALL them to order it? It can't be ordered online.

do you know if the offer them in 5.2 AND 5.9, and if so, is the difference accomplished by the simple add-on balance weight when using it on a 5.9?

See, I'd like to start accumulating parts, and this seems to be the sticking point. On top of that, I'd like to be able to put a t56 behind a stock 5.9, but also later down the road swap the 5.9 out for a built 408, which, from what I read, will then require the use of the 5.2 flywheel instead of the 5.9. So, the add-a-weight would be a handy option versus trying to find, and pay for, another flywheel in a few years.

I think they offer them in 5.2 and 5.9, but I think it's a dedicated flywheel for each and not an add-on balance weight thing.
You might avoid all the speculation and try calling THEM and asking them.
