Thanks for giving us something to look forward to. I heard Depends garments are not far behind retirement :banghead:

Frankie, We should seriously make some of them up. Could have used them 15 years ago when I retired at 44.

Mitch, I retired early, too. I first took early retirement in 1992 (I was 42 years old).
My wife told me to go find something to do, so I started a business by accident. lol Finally sold it in 2014, and stayed on as a paid adviser for a year, (until April of this year.

Free at last! Free at last! Thank god almighty I'm free at last! Just got my first retirement distribution from one of my 401K's !!!!!!

Not exactly the same but my buddy has a bumper sticker that says, " Im a local and yes my life is better than your vacation."

It makes me smile every time I see it!

COOL!! Always glad to hear of someone doing alright for retirement. Not enough of the able to retire stories, and my heart goes out to those who don't have it as well.

I love it Frankie! Although not officially retired until October 16th, I haven't been to work for work purposes since May and I will only be going back to clean out my desk and have a party. AND IT FEELS GREAT!!!!!!!! LOL

Now THAT's freakin' COOL!

I have a I did something similar. But not at home. I purchased an old auto shop down in Florida. We have a condo in Bradenton Beach. so I purchased a building in the town of Bradenton. It's a building that had 8 service bays, with two 12'x12l doors at each end.

I divided the building in half front to back, and now have a 4 bay shop for my Dart, and to service my cars and trucks, and a the other side of the new wall is my wood working shop.

There is an office that is common to both shops at the beck end of the building and I converted the men's room into a toilet and shower, and the ladies room into a kitchen/break room.

There is also a 4 room apartment above the wood shop side of the building that I'm presently in the process of creating a media room out out of the existing living room, and another room, one of the two bed rooms, will be for my model railroading stuff.
The kitchen is being converted into more of a lounge, and the second bedroom will remain a bedroom. It also has a full bath.

The reason I didn't do that in Georgia, is because sooner or later, I'm going to get tired of cutting the grass at my house in Georgia, and opt for Condo life on the beach in Florida, and my "shop" will be a 10 minute drive from the beach. ;)
