Found a couple of old drag strip slips...

...found two old drag strip slips from my 69 swinger 340. Was going through a last box of "junk" and parts that came with my car and found two old slips in the bottom of the box. One is from St. Louis MO and the other from Bethalto IL? One had it going 14.67 @ 96.47 miles per hour and the other one just had a time of 14.34 on it.

Was that a decent time for a dart?

All stock, I say yea. Header on it, I still say yea. Mid to low 14's isn't a bad time. Thats a fun street ride.

Man them must be some old timeslips. I can't even remember Bethalto having a dragstrip. There was a strip in Godfrey (a few miles away from Bethalto) but it was shut down before I got my license in 80. I agree with Rumble. That seems in line with what it would have done stock or near stock. Remember back then we only had junk bias ply tires so getting out of the hole fast was nearly impossible.

Any way for you to post a pic of the slips?

I also don`t recall a strip in Bethalto must have been when the car was really close to new maybe.
