as said above
pull the plugs
check the dipstick for water
spin over the oil pump if the oil looks ok
check for bad gas- I'd drain and go fresh
check the compression while you have the plugs out looking for hydraulic problems
put the plugs back and dist back in
etc
check the tranny fluid
drive it home
great find
you will need crossmember and tunnel work for a 518- lots have done it - do a search
is this a "three wire" trans an 518 RH 95 and earlier (post year and check the wiring/ plug)
or later RE (more wires in the connector)?

Oh, ok. So you parted the numbers car to make a good car. I actually endorse that. That car had so much rust in the cowl area.....man.....and quarters.....it was really sad. It was such a cool car. But I am glad it will live on on some shape or form.
The 1973 340/A833 Road Runner is safe, running and not going to be modified.

This 1974 came with a 318/904 which were gone when I got it.

The truck is a 2000.

A LOT of people wouldn't say this........but that truck is repairable. Parts for it are cheap.

I thought the same thing.

This same uncle TD has a few other of these dodge rams, not running, but I don’t think that they are 2500’s. Good for fender, grille, windshield, but I don’t know the difference in front suspension between 1500, 2500, & 3500 (am thinking there is a big difference if a truck is four wheel drive or not)

Hey, that looks like my old Aspen RT in the last pic. Moonroof four-speed car?
Purchased as a rolling Chassis for $800 but shipping from Colorado was killer.
No moonroof, fourspeed R/T equipped with A/C, have bought a complete interior set (stripped from another car) $400, I have the A833 O/D for it now ($400), have the mint R/T grille but also have the 1978 Aspen straight line grille and will use the 1976 Volare tail lights (which look allot like 1970 Plymouth B body tail lights)...

Nice that you are saving it. Mine was a 318 four speed with the sliding moonroof. Sold it in 1986 because I couldn't afford to rebuild the motor. That would be a lot of fun with a 408 stroker in it. Black with the white stripe was a a less popular combo for some reason. Good luck.

Don't rebuild the truck use it for parts instead on the other trucks. jmho
The trans uses the 8 pin. It should be a 46re.
Pull the 5.9, put a 904 or a 500 behind it and drop it in one of your cars.

Would the end of the crankshaft of the 5.9 be able to accept the NAPA pilot-bushing adaptor for an A833?

My understanding is that the all the magnum cranks will take the roller bearing for the manual trans. I think you may need to clip the end of the trans input shaft if you don't drill the end of the crank for clearance.

the 46 re would require a kit from one of out vendors- do a search
pilot adapter bushing should work- still going to have to fool with the crossmember- do a search on whatever trans the car has now to stick conversion
