My fuel gauge is reading full all the time. I tested the ohms right at the fuel sending unit and it is reading 10 ohms and my fuel is almost empty. If I am not mistaken, the ohms range is 73 empty to 10 full. Is this correct and is this a good test for the sending unit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Sounds like sender is stuck. If at all possible, and it's original OEM, try to clean and fix it, as the repops are inaccurate and crap. There is a gauge corrector or two you can buy that electronically corrects for sender errors.

There's a tool to get the sender retainer out (it twists like a bayonet) but I've done them with a small hammer and punch. Try and save the ring as the repops are thinner.

Thank you for the information. I will try to save the original if it is even the original. Where can I get a gauge corrector?

Look in the fuel forum section. There are sticky threads listed first about "Meter Match" units and the like.

Yes meter match and there were/ are cheaper ones / look alikes on egag. I bought one and tested it, but who knows if the same outfit is selling them. How these work is, they are sort of programmable, and can take the incorrect resistance at 3 or 4 or more points in the travel, and correct that electronically to cause the gauge to read where you want.
