Fuel sending unit wires

I will get a pic in a bit, but there are two wires coming down together. One with the 90 degree connector that logically snaps onto the sending unit stud(?)

The second wire looks red (I am color blind lol) and the end is stripped so it must have been hooked to something? Any idea where this goes?

Car has not moved in 30 years so tracing alot of hackery

Dark blue wire is for the sending unit.
Anything else in that area is not factory. Maybe someone added a ground jumper.

Since it's red, see if it is hot in start and/or run. It may have been for an electric fuel pump.
