Gained 40% MPG installing a viscous fan!

I always track my mileage, and several tanks now since I installed a viscous fan, my mileage went from 12MPG to 17MPG. Motor revs high on the freeway, and it sounded like an airplane under the hood before. Much better now. 40%! Crazy.

maybe these? 12 to 17 seems high but pulling a plane prop does kill mpg

Not unexpected for 2 or 3,(factory parts work!)5 is a nice improvement.. Congratulations, 3.75..
 
A viscous fan uses so much less energy than a fixed fan or a flex fan.
 
Does the new fan keep in the engine running just as cool as the old fan, especially in stop and go traffic.

That's al lot of mpg gain for just changing out a fan...

Lol. sure you didn't have the old one running backwards (just kiddin')?
 
Sadly there isn't enough space to use one on my car or it would be on there.
 
if you gained that much mpg you should really feel it on the buttt dyno
 
It was a notable kick in the seat change on my d150.
