I have a .020 bored 318 with 360 heads.

The aluminum Edelbrock Intake leaves a gap in thecenter of the head. It matches the contour of the intake runner. Not a hole in the intake runner. This above and surrounding the runner.

Is this normal? Will it leak coolant or oil? Do I need some sort of plate to block it? Do I need a different manifold?

I have a set of aluminum valve covers. Each one has a hole and a cap.

Do I need a breather in one of the covers? Both? what about a PCV valve? Do I need to drill a hole for the PCV?

Thanks,

The gap is not problem. Factory intakes do that too. You need to drill out one cap hole, get the right sized grommet, and run a PCV on one side. The other side, you just drill out the rear hole and using the right grommet again, run a breather.
