Wow.. Pretty bad*as cars in this thread, I would one day love a 55 Chevy post car, my freakin dream car lol..

This falcon is from one of my threads, "my neighbor that did monstrosities to it, with lumber, self tapping screws etc, etc,.. " Anyways it still frightens me, I have since fixed all the ghetto rigged stuff with proper steel where wood was once used. I did everything but paint job and engine. Paint was a maaco paint job in torreador red metallic. I did body work, and everything else.
Hood was originally a stock flat hood that I molded a 4" cowl onto it. A mild 302 powers it with a tremec 5 speed and 8" rear.
Not as nice as the other examples here, but it was done on a budget. Not my type of car but its okay. Straight axle and everything else was done by me as well.

I love that Falcon, they look great as gassers.
There was a guy near where i lived in the mid '70s that used to race one that looked very similar to yours except it was white.
He had ''Just Falcon around" painted on the side......lol

Thank you for the compliments guys. It was originally a black rattle can f'ed up paint job that someone did, and it was so high in front at first lol. Looked mean and all but there was hardly any arch in the front half of the leafs.
I have a question as well. The leafs are no longer as they are in the pics, but how's the ride on everyone's cars? Bouncy? Smooth? Okay if the roads fine?

Neat thing about this,is I did everything to where it retained all the stock steering components.

This will be my 3rd,the 1st one a 63 nova with a econoline axle rode decent but wandered a bit.The 2nd was a 37 Chevy coupe and I used the original axle and that one was harsh spring wise but drove nice.

That Falcon looks cool but I would of went with a teardrop scoop to be more period correct.

Yeah a tear drop would have done it along with clearanced wheel wells! But its painted now haha.

Spring wise I mean its bouncy, not as much as my lowered mustang but it bounces, my car has cut springs on it as well, just wasn't sure how gassers rode, it doesn't wander at all really. Maybe if you hit a really deep pothole yeah it'll shoot one way but not like it'll kill you.

Directional stability in a straight axel is all about the caster set up needs about 6 degrees of caster and it wont dart.

Progress
