I confess that I'm totally lost when an electrical fix is needed. I would like to install a solid state voltage limiter in our '65 Dart. This car has a built in limiter inside the fuel gauge. Another member shared this website with instructions to wire up the limiter, but I can't figure out how to hook it up to my gauge. Could someone help dummy this down for me?

My second question is what would be the best way to re attach the face to the gauge after lthe limiter install? Looks like small rivets holding it in place now.

here are pics of my gauge

Thanks in advance, Bob

The "basics" are

one terminal of the fuel gauge is 12V into the limiter

One terminal of the gauge is common with the fuel gauge power terminal and the OUTPUT 5v of the limiter as that terminal also jumpers 5V power out to the rest of the gauges

So at minimum you need to surgically (LOL) cut the limiter connection to the fuel gauge so it's "safed off" and if possible isolate the original 12V gauge terminal, you can then use it for a junction point

As to specific years and clusters I cannot help much

BE CAREFUL
