Gene Winfield

I met Gene a few times i asked him a few questions on english wheel tricks he grabbed a piece of body metal and went to the wheel and showed me . He told me it was his 92nd birthday that day and that was 3 maybe 4 years ago . He enjoyed passing his skills on to anyone that was interested .

At 93 he has no need for apologies. Too bad, tho to die of something like that.

Met him at the GNRS a few years ago. He was a genuine, super nice dude. And man what a metal working talent. Hope he lives out the rest of his days painless and happy.

I met Gene at Autorama in Houston about 10 years ago. He was putting on a 4 day clinic showing some of the local vocational students about true metal fabrication. I spoke to him as he passed by and he came back over. I invited him for a cup of coffee when he took a break and about ten minutes later we were sitting and chatting. He is a man with great wisdom and talent, I pray he gets past this hurdle.

Really sad to hear this. We have a 5 day car show/event every July, this is our 25th anniversary this year and he has been up to the show probably 10 or 12 times putting on metal working clinics. Some people don't deserve to die and some people don't deserve to live. Guess it's not us to decide.
