So. Cal
greetings. My ‘64 Dart’s history, someone put on those door guard strips... and didn’t do it very well. They are both screwed on and have the sticky backing. I’ve pulled off one piece (pictured) with Goo Gone and got most of the residue off as well. Before I keep working at it, I thought I’d ask what others do in this situation? Any products or techniques you can suggest?

Thank you
Greg

Eraser wheel. Ive done tons of cars w it. Just take ur time

Ronsonol lighter fluid. As a solvent - don't light it. LOL.
What I was going to say. VMP Naptha, same as lighter fluid. But try some lighter fluid in an area that can't be seen to be sure. Just in case. LOL

Thanks all. I got pretty far with WD-40, Goo Gone, some Fast Orange and a magic eraser. I couldn’t get it all off. I started rubbing the paint off.

It’s not sticky stuff, it more like stained paint from water getting underneath the strip. (My guess)

rubbing compound? I like the WD40, not bad for the paint either.
