Guys partying on the clock at Chrysler...

I , too , find it funny that this is "news" ! This is hardly new ; it's been goin' on since the dawn of time .

I worked -- at a dealership -- with guys whom worked at the G.M. South Gate ( Los Angeles suburb ) plant ; the stories they told were both funny and sad :

One of them told me how there was a guy there whom "handed-out" grips of "Whites"
( benzedrine ) , "Black Beauties" ( methedrine ) , "Rainbows" ( barbiturates ) and "Reds"
( also a barbiturate ) and other assorted uppers , downers , laughers , and screamers .

I also knew some guys whom worked at the Chrysler Commerce ( another L.A. suburb ) facility ; same stories .

German auto workers drink beer on their breaks ... no hoopla about that , huh ? But then again , every other country in the world gets a 2 - 3 hour break during the day ; and , no surprise , they're NOT all stressed-out !
Half an hour lunch ?!?!? WTF ? Small wonder we're so stressed-out at work !!!
Granted , the lack of REAL breaks is but one factor involved in the stresses of the Blue Collar worker ; but , by giving the guys a REAL break during the day to rest , eat , socialise , etc. , it would go a long way in reducing stress levels , reduce sleepiness ( especially that 14:30 - 16:30 uncontrollable yawn time !! ) .

So these Obama-supported , union-scapegoats got "caught" ... how many politicians do the same things behind closed doors ??
 
I'm at work now, could probably go back to the warehouse right now and find someone getting high.It used to be If you were hurt or damaged company property they would send you out for a piss test and give you paid time on the street until the results company got tired of giving people more vacations on ther dime,so now if somthing happens they will swab you on the spot
 
We have new rules at work.First time caught drinking at work is automatic 30 day suspension,2nd time your fired.Ofcourse the union will get your job back,but will probably have to go to rehab.Alcholics have a disease,which is hard to cure.
 
they would be lucky to have 20 mins to get high, consider the round trip just to your car from your job on the assembly line, it could be a half mile walk round trip, you get 30 minutes to walk to your car, go down the street to a store? then to a park nearby to drink/smoke then back to work and walk all the way back to your job all in 30 minutes? Lunch breaks at any of the Big 3 here in the US or Canada are NOT on paid time.

Yea I here you about the breaks I work 12hr shifts and we are only supposed to get 10-10-20-10-10 20 being the lunch break.But thankfully they don't enforce it
