So I happened to stroll over to the Haggerty Insurance website, and discovered they assigned a bill to my account for $2.76. I dont know what for and it was assigned about 2 months after I renewed on my 3 cars. In further reading my insurance was not in effect for any of the 3 cars because of the bill. And surprisingly enough paying the bill did no reinstate my policy from todays date, just from October when I reupped my policy. Not sure how I can be without insurance but still have paid for that period. Phones gonna be busy tomorrow. In the mean time if you have Haggerty might be a good idea to check so you dont fall into this trap.

My brother got a speeding ticket in his truck and Hagerty dropped his coverage on his 68 and 69 Firebirds.
They will also send you notices about raising the stated value because the market went up.
I bet your premiums go up significantly as well . They said I should increase the coverage on my 69 340 4sp Swinger to 40k.

I dropped Hagerty after 2 years.
Premium doubled when I went to renew. When I called to ask why, I wasn't given a reason, just that was the way it was.
I shopped around and went with American Collectors.
I've had to make one claim in the 12 years I've been with them and they handled it like pros.
In 12 years, my premium has increased, but it less than $100 over the years and that for two cars.
When I called Hagerty to cancel, of course their retention team was 50 questions as to why. Still never got a decent answer.

I dropped Haggerty years ago. Their rates were going up 10-15% per year. I went with Grundy. Better coverage for less and very small increases annually.

Hagerty sold, no longer family owned, no longer dealing with knowledgeable car enthusiasts... Just another big corporation...

I too moved my cars to Grundy.... Friend that owns a body shop specializing in classics said if the policy doesn't say Grundy he knows it's gonna be a fight every time...

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be checking my Hagerty account ASAP. I've just about HAD it with all insurance companies. They bend you over in broad daylight and don't even pretend to want to serve you.

I'm with American collectors also... they were nice to deal with and my premium is well under 1/2 of what haggerty wanted..

Twenty five years ago American Collector told me I didn't fit their "Collector Profile"... Guess I drive my cars to much... I haven't bothered them since....

ah.. not sure how many miles you put on but they have plans for more or less mileage, i just checked and mine is 1000 miles a year which i won't get near.. at this rate i doubt i will do 200....

$290 a year with 20k agreed value.. which at this point i would LOVE to get the payout on.

When I was looking they maxed out at 4K miles... That year I put nearly 6K miles on my car...

Wish i lived where you do.. here are have MAYBE 4 months of decent weather you can drive a old car in.. unless you enjoy rain, snow, and salt...
I try to drive every month, every week really... A hundred miles a week adds up pretty quickly.... Throw in a 1000 mile weekend & you're over mileage limits... If anyone is paying attention...

I work 70 hours a week plus living in this michigan hell doesn't give much time for anything... i did remove my speedo gear this weekend which i hadn't considered would probably void my insurance... It's off by like 25mph at 60.. so figured i would just stop it from spinning away for no reason.

I've never been a slave to work, Haven't worked more than 50 hours consistently since I got out of the Military... I've always kept my expenses low, I try to enjoy what I have & don't worry about what others may have....

After reading this thread I'm thinking: Aw, damn! I just re-upped 4 trucks with Hagerty about two months ago.

(Putting a note in my Outlook calendar to shop around next spring.)

I have a 1200 mile addendum on each of my cars insured thru them. I'll never hit a 1/4 of that in a year on just one car, let alone both. The only reason I carry it is because when I do take cars to shows, they're long distance shows.
I have my 75 Dart and my 74 Duster on that policy and the premium is $327 a year. That's less than what Haggerty wanted for just the Dart.

Never hit a quarter of that.... So 300 miles? Then where's this long distance show fit in? 300 miles isn't what I consider long distance, it's a typical day cruise....

I bet when they changed hands a few years ago, everything changed.
I had used them for more than a few years prior, and always had good prices. Of course, never had a claim. I am in between runners right now, but I will not be calling Hagerty!

For me, a long distance car show is about 300 miles round trip.
Mopar Nationals is it. It's about 125 up and another 125 back. I leave my Dart at the venue and drive my minivan around town.
My Duster might get 150 miles in a year on it. Most of that is driving to a cruise in a few times a year.
Right now, I have zero miles on both of them for the year. Neither have moved since I winterized and put them away.

You need to up your game.... Both of my cars put on close to a thousand miles a couple weeks ago... So far this year the red one has driven over 2K miles

Green & Red Challengers at the start are both mine... 350 miles each way plus the driving around in the LA area..

I've had Grundy from the get-go, as far as collectors ins. Not once have they ever asked me to document mileage. I have never had to file a claim, but they did make a "Come to Jesus" call to a State Farm rep who was trying to weasel out of paying when their insured door dinged my 71 Challenger conv at a restaurant. Changed his attitude CONSIDERABLY!

Can’t you just drop mid term and they refund the remaining?
