Has anyone relocated their ignition switch?

I like the cleaner look of a keyless column so I am thinking about moving the ignition switch to the dash (or ? ) on my '71 Dart. Does anyone out there have any advice on completing this move?
 
Personally I think this is a poor idea. You might not like it, but the locking column DOES provide a small bit of security. If you want to do this "clean" put in an earlier column and dash, or an aftermarket "hot rod" column
 
Installing an aftermarket tilt column is the plan just thought since I'd be doing some wiring anyway, why not. I'm looking at an Ididit universal column.
 
I relocated mine to my custom center console...
