recently bought a 66 dart off of ebay and the hood hinges are rotted on the sides by the fender. now my question is this, just what do you call this area. is it the inner fenders or does the hood bars attach to the fenders themselves? I havent gotten the car yet and want to start getting ready to tear it apart. also does anyone make sheet metal for the 66 if i need some parts? One more thing what size are the standard tire and rim size for this car and what size can i put on them safetly.

thanks

If you are talking about the pivot point for the hinge, thats part of the cowl itself. Don't think anyone makes a patch panel for that but a competent sheetmetal shop could make them up for you. Gonna be some welding involved though. A lot cheaper than trying to replace the shole cowl.

Welcome to FABO and the world of "Early A Bodies". There are a lot of us here to help you along with your project. I'm sorry to say but there aren't too many sheet metal parts available for the early A's. There are some floor pan pieces, lower quarter patch panels and rear wheel arches but that's about it. Most of the metal is pretty simple and can be fabbed by a handy body man.
