Head Porting tools

I am preparing to get to work on some heads for my Duster.

I would like to port and polish them.

Is there a better source than Summits for the grinding burrs etc.

What would you buy and where would you get it?

Are there any heavy industry sites in your area? We used to have a shipyard here and if you new somebody you could get thier used burrs from them. They are still good enough for doing a set of heads.

I hadn't thought about that. I know we have some lumber mills and I am pal's with a few guys that work there.

Good idea. I was just wondering if there was a "home porting depot" type of site or something out there.

Seems like there is something for everything out there....

Goodson sells a ton of stuff. Also, thye are called carbide burrs, and rotary files. The rotary files cut faster, but dont leave as smooth a finish. You will want a few various ones, plus the polishing stuff.

I got a set of burrs for aluminum off eBay......there are lots of kits on there.

Goodson works well. It was the Carbide one that was causing the issues...
