I am in the process of building a stroker 410 c.i. from a 340 block and was wondering about the best heads for this motor. I am building it to reach 7200 RPM and am considering magnum aluminum or commando large port heads. Which of these heads would be recommended or any other suggestions would be appreciated?

By "reaching" 7200rpm, is that through the traps, or HP peak?
Fully ported Edelbrock heads work very well and can peak in the 6500rpm range and carry power another 300-400 rpm.
If you want a peak at 7200rpm, then you'll need an Indy head for that. Anymore I just start with the -1 head and port it. The cnc -2 head needs port work/valve job to make good HP. After all that, the -1 head is cheaper.

Thanks for your reply,
I am wanting this engine to have a good power band up to 7200 RPM.
