Head swap

They will do what you need to get the lash set up. 020 at the cam is gonna be .030 lash cap. They will also move the wear pattern on the rockers so make sure they will be compatible before you install them. you dont want the rocker to move off the valve, probably a non issue with a smaller lift cam like your running, and the fact that they are lash caps that offer a larger valve tip.

1st thing id do would pull heads and replace gaskets with .020 thinner gaskets, it help compression, and then the push rods would be ok....DWB

Just wanted to thank everyone for your help! I just got the push rods today from Summit. 7.550 did the trick. Super quiet and smooth now! That's amazing what a difference that small amount of length made!

Swapped heads on a 73 dodge dart 318 went from stock heads to a set of 302 castings with 1.88 stainless valves. Engine runs great but now has a lot of lifter clatter and it didn't have it with the stock heads. Any suggestions on why?

I’ll mention rocker shafts being installed so they don’t oil the rockers just in case nobody else has.
