I bought a set of headlight adjusters and am having trouble figuring out how to install them. Originals were already out, so I can't compare how they were. Can anyone help?

What are they going on? I had a 69 D200 pick-up that had them riveted or screwed on from the factory, I forget which, but most cars they just pop/snap into place, but there are several different kinds, you have to make sure you have the correct ones for your car.

Not positive, but they should just snap right in. (Held in place by the plastic tabs made into the adjusters) I'm sure someone here knows for sure & will put you on the right track.

Take the plastic out of the metal clip. Put clip in body, press plastic into clip.
There are multiple different styles, so it may take something different.

I appreciate the comments and pictures; Mine are a bit different from the pictures and have to be installed from the rear of the hole. I have a couple done, but it is a tough job with limited space. Thanks for the interest.

How about some photos

If you have a 68 A body the adjusters are the same as I posted.

The images in the catalogs showed the screw installed backwards.

The insert DOES NOT install from the back.

It installs from the front as the photos in the link show.

This is the correct way to insert the screw.

This is the WRONG way to to insert the screw , (but all the resellers show the screw inserted this way)

Here is a photo of the ORIGINAL adjusters installed on a 67 A body.

I understand why you think they should install from the rear.
6 years ago I replaced a front fender and I ordered a kit.

I too tried to install them from the rear, and had big trouble. Then I looked at the other side. OOPS!

I installed them correctly and it was super easy.

Here is a screen shot from a Google search.

Only 1 is shown correct.
