We raced our 340 71 Duster against our friends
Loge and Stein Racing ( One of the very best full
engine/dyno shops in the West ).

Big Nasty headwind!

Both cars go .80 plus under in sub optimal cotions.

Their car surprises us and outruns us almost 2 1/2 Hundreds.

Last time we raced at Arizona Nationals the cars were within 1
Hundred and so were the reaction time. We had beaten them a
couple times the last few years but they prevailed in Feb.

Randy Loge puts up a solid .030 light but Jon bangs the tree .000
Trip/Zip/Perfect. The car cross the 1/8 Absolutely Dead Even due
tp Randy 1.38 @ 60 to our 1.41 @ 60.

However, Jon's car runs two tenths of an MPH better to take the strip
by .006 Heads Up!

These are the kind of Class Races that make my Damn Hair fall out!

Stay Tuned.

Jon wins the 3rd round against a
low 9 COPO Camaro.

Now he gets a Bye at Round of 9 to advance
to Final 5 cars.

If he and our good friend Justin Jerome in his 340
Duster gets to the Finals, they will have another SS/KA
Heads Up race and it will be a Nail Biter for sure!

I am so Blessed to be able to do what we Love at my
Elderly Age and health!

God is so Very Good to us all the Time.

Hallowed be his Holy Name!

Damn nice!! Sure hope someone got video or pics of that for you.

Here we go round of 5.

Wind changes from side to a full headwind
as Jon comes out of the water box.

The lights are close within a few thou but the Duster
has the aerodynamics of a Garage Door and we slow
more that the much faster itty bitty peanut car. Neither car can run
their numbers but the faster tiny car come closer.

Loading up for World Final in Pomona California.
Gates open Tuesday Morning.

We will post a Video tomorrow afternoon.
We have to change engines first in Jon's
Demon 340 D/SA. Last week we had to change
the transmission and rear end both. I loaned him
my Demon 340 D/SA for this week's race and I really want
it back for the World Final next week (I got to the Final 4 at
World Finals and Final 4 at Winternationals both last year).

Well if Jon had won his round of 5 he would have had
a bye into the finals. His good friend Justin Lamb won
both Stock and Superstock today at the final Divisional
race of this year.

His Superstock win enabled him to win the NHRA Superstock
National Championship for 2025. He HAD to go to the finals
and then WIN the race or he would have come up short.

You still get to do what you love and even better, with your son! I can certainly understand how those close races will make you pull out your hair, holy moly that was a close finish!
I was watching on Drag Race Central .. good showing ! Good Luck in Pomona ! .. love seeing all the S/S small block A bodies !
