Heat Cycling Tires

I've seen Heat Cycling offered by a couple tire places for drag radials. What is this,what does it do, and is there a way to DIY?

Sounds to me like driving around a while long enough to get them heated up, maybe a burn-out, and let them cool down completely.

So then drive around normally as straight as possible for about 20 minutes then either take them off or jack the car up to let them completely cool?

Heat cycling for drag radials..lol..sure,pull into the water box get them wet, pull forward do your burn out, pull forward make your run.. cycle completed,come down return road repeat process...
