When I bought my car the passenger side vent door was in the trunk.
Looked like the hinge pins were seized up and when someone tried to open it
it just pulled the rivets out of the plastic. Anyways, today I got the hinge moving again and came up with what I think will work for a fix. I cleaned
up the holes where the rivets pulled out from and sanded all around them to rough it up. I then sanded the inside of the box behind the hinge.
Cut some sheet metal to fit in the box and give some strength to the fragile plastic.
I mixed up some JB weld to adhere everything together and fill the holes.
Worked out pretty good.
Heres the inside, Still need to dremel the excess off and paint but it should be strong enough.
