Is this repairable? How should I clean it and what steps should I take? Should I just try to replace the unit for my 65 barracuda. I had purchased a rebuild kit before I pulled it out. The door snapped off when I tried to open it.

Ouch! Anything is repairable but I think you'd be ahead of the game just replacing it.

If you're interested I have a heater only unit I pulled from a 65 Dart when I parted the car out. I am converting to factory AC so I won't be using it.

Fyi see in the 1st pic the big clips that hold the halves together? When you rebuild and go to reinstall those clips release some of the tension off of them. Otherwise you may break/crack the bakelite halves.
Hope that makes sense??
Oh and take 65 Dartman up on his offer too.

Thanks, I've been fortunate in doing business with him before and have spoken to him about getting this from him. How do you clean these units. I need to do the driver side.
