Heater TEmp Cable

Hey guys so i just replaced my heater blower switch but now that i am placing it back together my damn heater temp cable seems to not stay in place the end where it connects to a valve seems to be stripped i will be fixing it with tape and glue so it grips to the clip again. yet the end where it is connected to the heater blower switch seems to be curved is that normal?

I colored it in red on the picture please help

In most cases.. When a door binds and operators forces the lever the attach point at controller ( plastic stems ) break. In this one case the cable attach point is metal. Forcing lever movement bends the cable rather than slide it through the sheathe as it should. Something has to give. The length of cable sticking out was the weakest link.
maybe you can straighten it enough to work right again. Otherwise you'll need to replace it. Ensure the door(s) operate freely first.

X2, it is supposed to be straight but they are pretty easy to straighten back out again with a couple of pairs of needle nose pliers, or a regular set of pliers and a set of needle nose.
As mentioned, important to make sure the doors and cable move freely.

I will sometimes use a little engine oil on those cables (just soaks through the housing coils) and then slide a section of vacuum hose over it to keep dust and crap from building up in it again.
