Hello, I've looked in on this site quite a few times, but finally just joined.

I was also wondering how to decode my VIN. I used the decoder, but I must be doing something wrong.

I've got a '64 Dart GT, with a factory four-speed behind a 273 V8.

Here's how the tag looks;
1234567890
8 2 B
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
3 1 5 B 731 2

SO NUMBER BDY TRM PNT
0409 3041 L42 P4X ZZ3

If anyone can help, I would be greatful. Thank you! :love4:

The red car does look like mine, except I've got the little V8 emblems.

The '65 fender tag from the '62-'65 Mopar site is a bit different than my '64. I'm getting there! Thanks guys.

Jim Lusk on BigBlockDart clued me in the fact that the VIN and fender tags are not one and the same. So I found out...

Vehicle Identification Number: L445162679
Vehicle Model: Dart V8
Vehicle Class: Dart GT
Vehicle Body Style: N/A
Vehicle Engine: N/A
Vehicle Year: 1964
Vehicle Assembly Plant: Los Angeles, CA, USA
Assembly Sequence Number: 162679

Thanks for your help everyone!

Hello urchinhead, you`ll find lot`s of useful information here.........and some useless too, but that`s the fun part. Welcome.

Thanks ValiantMike. I found one more ID that was on the Fender Tag, but I'm still searching. I like the site, there's a lot going on.

Welcome, I'm new here myself and I can only tell ya these guys will help you all they can, a good bunch of Mopar buds for sure.

Glad it helped you. I find those fendertag decoders a little baffleing sometimes. Like when the same number seems to represent several completely different options. Mike
