I think it should match the heads, so aluminum. But don't clear coat it. It'll yellow.

AL heads are cool BUT standout when not painted engine color. I vote for paint the entire engine water pump etc. proper engine color

Something like a flat black maybe.Hide any stains/discoloration without competing with the rest of the engine.

i usually use the felpro 1215 or something like that.. its got something on it that i've never had one rust so i just keep them natural... if it wer emy engine the alumn heads and waterpump would all be orange too..

I made mine out of clear 3/8'' lexan , kinda neat to watch what's going on while idleing
Had pics , but lost them when I switched servers ...

if you're keeping the intake orange i'd paint the valley pan and heads orange too. the heads stand out (not in a good way) as they are. if the intake was kept ally the heads would be fine as is but now....... not so much.
neil.

I dont like contrasty gimmicky stuff. I vote paint it all orange or leave the block orange and everything else aluminum finish.

Another option is to paint everything from the valley pan to the intake aluminum to match the heads. I think that might look more uniform. Orange block and aluminum top end. Just thought.

Water pump orange like the block and then match the valley Pan too the heads
